Commissions

The drive behind Surf Life Saving in Wales is provided by the Commissions’. The volunteers sitting on the bodies are responsible for the operation of everything from Nipper Camp, various championships, qualifications, training, etc. They are the link between the ‘grass roots’ and the management of the Association. Commissions’ meet on a regular basis (see calendar), and every lifeguard club is Wales is entitled to have two representatives’ attend. The Chair and Secretary of the Commissions’ are elected annually and they also attend Board of Trustees meetings.

Lifesaving

Surf Life Saving Association of Wales is the largest volunteer organisation for ocean safety and rescue work in the Principality. Our goal is "to prevent the loss of life through drowning”

Sport

SLSA Wales Sports Commission is responsible for the conduct of surf life saving competition at a national and international level in Wales.

Powercraft

The Surf Life Saving Association of Wales has a strong Powercraft section which is responsible for providing qualifications for Inflatable Rescue Boat Crews. The Powercraft Commission offers ‘grass roots’ up help and assistance to enable Crews to have the necessary skills in place to offer safety cover for Surf Life Saving events.

Youth

The Nipper Camp Fun Educational Water Safety and Sports Programme is achieving all our Aims and Objectives. Coaches and the Children are our Future. Over the past Ten
Years within this programme, we have Set Standards and developed all Club
Memberships. The Nippers are really on the crest of a wave and have a brilliant future

Coaching

Coaching is a great way to express your passion for a surf lifesaving and be actively involved. It is not only exciting but you can have a positive influence on people’s involvement in our sport.
